Bishop Kelly and Centennial were tied 12-12 at the end of regulation in the 2011 5A/4A State Lacrosse Championship Game tonight at Eagle High’s Thunder Stadium. The Knights outscored the Patriots 3-1 during the 6-minute overtime period to win the 2011 State Championship, 15-13. For BK it is a 3-PEAT, having won the championship with wins over Eagle High in 2009 and 2010.  Head Coach JoJo Brunelle caps her 7th season at the helm with an overall record of 100-17-1.

“Centennial was equal to us tonight, and either team could have taken this win,” said Brunelle. “It was a moment of truth for us, and the girls came through. I am proud of them and all they have accomplished as a team this season.”

The Knights end the season 16-2-0, with the two losses coming against Utah teams in the preseason Beetdigger Tournament in Salt Lake.
